Chester Bowl - Duluth Minnesota

Chester Bowl is a gorgeous 117 acre park in Duluth, Minnesota, with beautiful hiking trails, fishing, and soccer fields.  Summer programs and concerts are regularly scheduled.

Skiing Runs

  • Three main runs plus additional glade woods skiing
  • 175' vertical drop
  • Longest run is 800 feet
  • Double chair lift with a capacity of 960 skiers an hour
  • 3k intermediate cross country ski trails
  • Speed skating oval
  • Four ski jumps

Base Elevation:  700 ft   (213 m)
Summit Elevation:  875 ft   (267 m)
Annual Snowfall:  100 in   (254 cm)

Outdoor Activities:  Hiking,Cross Country Skiing, Downhill Skiing, Snowboarding, Ski Lessons, Children's Programs


Chester Bowl Soccer Field:  18th Avenue & Skyline Parkway 

Directions:  Located 1 mile west of UMD on East Skyline Drive.

Lift tickets: $5.00/day - all ages.

Park Dates:  Year Round

Availability:  Tu, Th-F 4:30-8:30 p.m., Sa-Sa 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Extended hours during school break weeks and holidays: 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Open Mid-December through Mid-March

Additional Information:  Groups of 45 or more are welcome
