If you are new to Lakeside, Lakeside is in the eastern part of Duluth, Minnesota, between South 40th Avenue East and the Lester River, extending just northwest of the Skyline Parkway. Many residents and visitors, however, consider Lakeside as starting with the beginning of London Road. This site will consider everything west of East 15th Street to the Lester River as the focus of this site.
The Duluth Lakeside area displays the priciest, most historic homes in the Duluth area. Several mansions and lake homes are nestled along the rocky Lake Superior shoreline. The most famous mansion is the Glensheen Mansion which has more than its share of history, mystery, and alleged hauntings.
The Duluth Lakewalk starts in the Lakeside area and travels throught the picturesque Leif Erikson park.
The roads and hillside of Lakeside offers many spectacular views of Lake Superior, Great Lakes Freightors, and sailboats.
